1. Introduction

Welcome to Handiwork Referrals, LLC (“we,” “us,” “Company,” or “our”). These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of our website (www.handiworkreferrals.com) and our referral services. By accessing or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

2. Service Description

Handiwork Referrals operates as a referral platform connecting customers with licensed, pre-screened handyman service providers (“Contractors”) in Arizona. We:

  • Match customers with Contractors based on project requirements
  • Process payments for services rendered
  • Add a surcharge to service fees for each service job.

3. Quotes and Estimates

Handiwork Referrals provides quotes for services requested by the Customer. These quotes are estimates, do not always include the cost of supplies and materials, and the actual amount of the service charged to the Customer may be different from the dollar amount quoted. Customer agrees to pay the full cost of services, including any additional costs associated with the service.

4. User Responsibilities

For Customers:

  • Provide accurate project details
  • Pay Handiwork Referrals for services (not directly to Contractors)
  • Review Contractor qualifications before approving work
  • Communicate service issues promptly

For Contractors:

  • Maintain all required licenses and insurance
  • Provide accurate quotes and service timelines
  • Perform work to professional standards
  • Invoice through Handiwork Referrals only
  • Agree to these Terms and those outlined in the Contractor Agreement

5. Payment Terms

  • Customers prepay Us a Service Fee in advance of work performed. This Service Fee is charged to the Customer’s credit card in one charge and includes the cost of the service, Our referral fee and payment processing fees.
  • Contractors receive the Service Fee as payment minus the referral fee and payment processing fees typically takes 3-5 business days after job completion.
  • All payments by the Customer are final unless service was not rendered.

We will use third party services to process credit card information. By accepting this Agreement, you are giving Us (or a third-party payment processor on our behalf) permission to charge any on-file credit card, debit card, or other previously approved methods of payment for fees that you owe. All information that you provide in connection with a purchase or transaction or other monetary transaction interaction must be accurate, complete, and current. You agree to pay all charges incurred by users of your credit card, debit card, or other payment method used in connection with a purchase or transaction or other monetary transaction interaction with Us at the prices in effect when such charges are incurred. We retain the right, in our sole discretion, to place a hold on the Customer’s credit card for an ordered or completed Service transaction. Seventy-two (72) after a Service is completed, if there is no complaint by the Customer, we will mark the Service as closed.

6. Service Guarantees & Limitations

While we vet Contractors, we:

  • Do not guarantee specific results or work quality
  • Are not liable for Contractor performance issues
  • May mediate disputes but are not obligated to resolve them
  • May discontinue working with a Contractor for any reason, including, but not limited to, poor performance.
  • Require Contractors to warrant all work for 30 days minimum. Handiwork Referrals, LLC is not responsible or liable for faulty, damaged, incomplete or, otherwise, unsatisfactory work or fulfilling or reinforcing warranties. Customers agree to go directly through the Contractor for all Warranty inquiries.

7. Cancellation & Refund Policy

  • Customers may cancel 24 hours before the service date for a full refund.
  • A partial refund may be issued if the Customer cancels with less than 24 hour notice of the service date and work has not started. After either work begins or after on the service date, there are no refunds.
  • Contractors must provide 24-hour notice for cancellations.

8. Prohibited Conduct

Users may not:

  • Arrange direct payments to bypass our commission.
  • Misrepresent qualifications or project details
  • Use our platform or services for illegal activities
  • Harass other users, contractors or our staff

9. Liability Limitations

Our maximum liability is limited to the service fee paid for any given project. We are not liable for:

  • Property damage caused by Contractors
  • Personal injuries
  • Contractor non-performance
  • Third-party actions
  • Disputed work

You should make whatever investigation or other resources that you deem necessary or appropriate before using our Services. WE SCREEN CONTRACTORS SOLELY AT THE TIME A CONTRACTOR APPLIES TO REGISTER WITH US. WE CANNOT AND DO NOT WARRANT OR REPRESENT THAT A CONTRACTOR’S SCREENING INFORMATION IS ACCURATE OR UP TO DATE. WE ARE UNDER NO OBLIGATION TO RE-SCREEN A CONTRACTOR’S BACKGROUND. WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE CONDUCT, WHETHER ONLINE OR OFFLINE, OF ANY USER INCLUDING CONTRACTORS, AND WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY CLAIM, INJURY OR DAMAGE ARISING IN CONNECTION WITH ANY SERVICE.

10. Termination

We may deny services or suspend accounts or services to anyone at any time, for any reason, including, but not limited to:

  • Payment issues
  • Terms violations
  • Fraudulent activity
  • Repeated complaints

11. Dispute Resolution

  • Arizona law governs these Terms
  • Disputes must be filed in Maricopa County courts
  • Mediation is required before litigation

12. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms with 5 days notice via email or website posting.
